Amaravati: Observing that good governance is being extended with the spirit and inspiration of the legend-ary, Sri Potti Srumulu's self-sacrifice, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday an-nounced that Telugu university will soon be established in the State to be named after the great icon, Potti Sriramulu.

Paying rich tributes to the valiant freedom fighter at a programme got up at Tummalapalli Vari Kshetrayya Kalakshetram in Vijayawada marking the occasion of sacrificing his life resulting in the formation of Andhra Pradesh State, the Chief Minister felt that continuous welfare and de-velopment is possible only with a stable government. Earlier, the Chief Minister along with Depu-ty Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan garlanded the statue of Potti Sriramulu and also garlanded the photo of Sardar Vallabhabhi Patel on the occasion of his death anniversary.

Recalling the noble sacrifices made by Potti Sriramulu, the Chief Minister said that the Telugus always feel proud of this legendary personality and this day remains in the history of the State forever. For full 58 days Sriramulu was on dedicated hunger strike ultimately sacrificing his life which led to the formation of linguistic States in the country, Mr Chandrababu Naidu recalled.

The Chief Minister announced that the 125th birth anniversary programmes of Potti Sriramulu will be organised on a large-scale in the State and said that a memorial will also be developed not only at his native place but also in Amaravati.

Stating that the State Government is moving ahead successfully overcoming all the hurdles, Nai-du said that his main intention is laying the foundation for the best administration.

Calling upon the people to extend their full cooperation in this regard, the Chief Minister made an appeal to them to come up with novel and great ideas. He was of the firm opinion that contin-uous welfare and development is possible only with a stable Government. The Swarnandhra-2047 Vision has been formulated with the inspiration of such great personali-ties like Potti Sriramulu, Naidu said that the vision document has been designed with clear pro-jects keeping in view every person, family and all the areas in the State. Some people for their own personal ends have totally destructed the nation and the State, he said that a situation was once created in the State in which people could not discuss anything freely. Even developmental works at the native place of Potti Sriramulu were withdrawn but now these leaders are pretending as if they have affection towards the State, he remarked.

Regretting that in the name of three capitals, the previous government had resorted to political vendetta on Amaravati, Naidu said that Polavaram too was destroyed which resulted in reverse gear. "We have been striving hard for the past six months to take the State on progressive path. In fact, the spirit of such legendary personalities is inspiring us to take the State much forward on developmental path," the Chief Minister said.

Acknowledging that the entire credit of organising grama sabhas in the most successful manner in a single day across the State goes to Pawan Kalyan, the Chief Minister felt that he is fortunate enough to participate in such ethical programmes like this to honour an exalted personality like Potti Sriramulu.
